The Guild of Freemen

The Guild of Young Freemen maintains a unique and enduring partnership with the Guild of Freemen of the City of London, ensuring that our members remain closely integrated within the wider Livery movement throughout their lives.

Our Partnership

All members of the Guild of Young Freemen are automatically made members of the Guild of Freemen, and upon reaching the Young Freemen’s age limit of 40, they can seamlessly continue their involvement. This provides a natural pathway for members to remain part of the City’s civic life and traditions well beyond their early years and additionally to their own livery company membership.

Membership of the Guild of Freemen opens the door to a wide range of opportunities. Its object is to bring together Freemen of the City of London for the purposes of charity, benevolence, education, and social activity. Members enjoy access its full annual programme, from historical evenings, lectures, and private visits to landmark sites, through to dinners, receptions, and the prestigious Annual Banquet with the Lord Mayor at Guildhall.

This partnership ensures that the Guild of Young Freemen is not only a starting point in the Livery journey but also a lasting gateway to the heart of the City of London’s traditions and community.
