Silent Ceremony 2024

Nov 13, 2024

Last week was of historical importance for The Guild of Young Freemen.

On Friday 8th November, many members of the Guild of Young Freemen were honoured to attend the Silent Ceremony at Guildhall, during which our Honorary President Alderman Alastair King DL as installed as the 696th Lord Mayor of London. For the first time in the Guild’s 48-year history, at the Lord Mayor’s invitation, the Young Freemen took part in the Presentation of Addresses (gift giving) that follows the ancient ceremony.

The Master Young Freeman, Grace Abba, the Wardens, John Lam, Rafael Steinmetz Leffa, Reuben Braden-Bell, Court Assistant and Common Councillor Jaspreet Hodgson and the Clerk, Stephen Hodgson presented a personalised leather-bound guestbook as a gift to the Lord Mayor.

Once again, congratulations to Lord Mayor Alastair King DL and his consort and fellow Young Freeman Florence King who will undoubtedly have a great year in keeping with their mayoral theme of ‘Growth Unleashed’.
