Rafael Steinmetz Leffa Elected as Renter Warden

May 24, 2023

The Court of the Guild of Young Freemen are delighted to have elected Rafael Steinmetz Leffa as our Renter Warden for 2023 – 2024 at our most recent Election Court.

Rafael was elected to the Court in 2022 as a Court Assistant having served on the Membership Committee since January 2021. He has been a member of the Guild since 2020.

Rafael Steinmetz Leffa is a British-Brazilian Asset Manager. He began his career in Beijing, trading physical commodities and sourcing natural resources from Latin America, which he sold to state-owned enterprises in China. This path was inspired by an internship organised with the help of the City of London Corporation at Barclays Capital during his time in Sixth Form. Rafael then went on to assist corporate and private clients, as well as governments, with infrastructure, investments, strategic partnerships, and financing.

In 2015 upon his return to the UK, where he had been educated, he began working with private client wealth management, initially for a small stockbroking firm in the City of London and later for various domestic and international asset management firms.

Rafael is a Freeman of the City of London, a member of the Guild of Young Freemen, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers and a member of the Broad Street Ward Club. In addition, Rafael is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and is fluent in five languages including Mandarin.

Congratulations Rafael!
