Mansion House
Scholarship Scheme
The Mansion House Scholarship Scheme was established to support the education and professional development of the next generation of international finance and business leaders. Each year, the Lord Mayor of the City of London awards scholarships to outstanding postgraduate students from around the world, enabling them to pursue studies in the United Kingdom and to experience the unique civic, cultural, and commercial life of the City.
Our Partnership
As part of this tradition, Scholars of the Mansion House Scholarship Scheme become members of the Guild of Young Freemen for the duration of their scholarship year. The Guild warmly welcomes them into its community and supports their integration into City life by subsidising thousands of pounds annually towards their active participation in our events. This ensures that Scholars are able to attend as many events as possible, immersing themselves in the traditions, networks, and civic role of the City of London.
At the end of their scholarship term, Scholars are also afforded the opportunity to continue their membership of the Guild of Young Freemen, and qualify to join the Former Members’ Network and to attend the annual Former Members’ Dinner. This ensures that their connection to the Guild, and to the wider civic community, endures well beyond their scholarship year and our spirit of inter-livery fellowship global.
Through this partnership, the Guild of Young Freemen plays an active role in strengthening international ties and in fostering the education, leadership, and civic engagement of future global professionals.
