Today, on International Women’s Day, the Guild of Young Freemen is proud to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of our past and present female members

When the Guild was founded in 1976, June Evans served as the first Chairman. Her professional experience as barrister residing in Middle Temple and Common Councillor of Farringdon Without Ward was instrumental in organising the Young Freemen’s initial foundations.

Current Master Young Freemen Grace Abba reflected on her experience, saying:

“Being a female Master of the Guild of Young Freemen has been an incredible honour, and I was delighted to be joined by other women Masters in my year—a reflection of the growing representation of women in these historic roles. It’s also wonderful to witness more women joining the Guild and more female members on the Court, breaking barriers and shaping the future, and I am confident that we will see continuity in female representation in the years to come.”

The Guild of Young Freemen is proud to uphold its commitment to equal opportunity, recognising young professionals based on merit and rewarding hard work, regardless of gender or any other form of discrimination.

Happy International Women’s Day!
