Annual Banquet at Saddlers’ Hall

Oct 28, 2024

On the evening of Friday 18th October, the Guild of Young Freemen celebrated its 48th Annual Installation Banquet at Saddlers’ Hall, gathering members and guests for another unforgettable chapter in the Guild’s history. The evening was rich with tradition, camaraderie, and formal proceedings, embodying the spirit and heritage of our community.

With a vibrant atmosphere and a shared commitment to fostering future leadership, this year’s Installation Banquet was a powerful reminder of the strong foundations on which our Guild stands as our newly installed master Grace Abba talked about her journey in the Guild.

Among our our guests were His Excellency Dr Inigo Lambertini, Ambassador of Italy to the UK; the Honorary President of the Guild and Lord Mayor Elect, Alderman Alastair King DL and past Guild presidents, Former Lord Mayor Sir David Wootton and Alderman Tim Hailes FKC.

We were also honoured to welcome the Master and Clerk of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, the Master and Clerk of the Woolmen, and the Master of the Worshipful Company of Coopers. Also present were the Immediate Past Master of the Scriveners Company, HQS Wellington, John Hammond, a former Clerk to the Society of Young Freemen, the Clerk and Prime Warden of the The Worshipful Company of Basketmakers, and Commander James Nisbet, London Area Officer of the Marine Society & Sea Cadets — all longstanding supporters of the Guild.
