Our annual Advent Carol Service was held earlier this month in St Michael Cornhill.
Past Master Young Freeman Rhys Jones read the first lesson of the service. The subsequent lessons were read by Rachel Dixon, a member of the Evensong congregation, Rupert Phelps, Churchwarden for The Drapers’ Company and Co-founder of the Lord Mayor’s Global Family Office Summit for the The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, and Alderman Robert Howard, Churchwarden and Master of The Worshipful Company of Gardeners. The sermon was delivered by The Reverend Henry Eatock-Taylor, the Honorary Chaplain of the Guild of Young Freemen.
The Christmas service was followed by mulled wine and mince pies, which were much enjoyed by the congregation, as the Young Freemen warmly embraced the festive spirit of the season.
St Michael’s has had links with many livery companies and guild over the centuries, and currently host regular services for the The Drapers’ Company, Merchant Taylors’ Company, Worshipful Company of Upholders, The Musicians’ Company, The Worshipful Company of Turners, The Honourable Company of Master Mariners, The Honourable Company Of Air Pilots, The Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers and The Guild of Young Freemen.
