About the Guild
The Guild was founded to provide a platform for young professionals to engage with the civic and historical traditions of the City.
Over time, it has developed into a forum that fosters engagement with London’s heritage while supporting professional and community activities. The Guild is open to young professionals under the age of 40 and seeks to encourage greater participation in the customs and institutions of the City of London.
The Court
Our administrative affairs are overseen by the Court of Assistants, which convenes regularly at Guildhall.
The responsibility for the governance and activities of the Guild rests with the Master and Wardens, who each serve a one-year term, together with the Court of Assistants, comprising Past Masters, Court Assistants, and Officers of the Court. The Court meets six times annually to conduct the Guild’s business, and holds additional meetings alongside major events to admit and welcome new members.
The Guild’s financial affairs are managed by the Treasurer and the Clerk, who prepare a financial report to the Court at each Court meeting.
The Lord Mayor serves as our Patron during his year in office, and every three to four years the Court elects an Honorary President to represent and support the Guild.

The Committees
The Court of Assistants has set up a number of Committees to attend to the detailed affairs of the Guild
All Committees of the Guild report to the Court of Assistants at each Court meeting. Each Committee is chaired by one of the Guild’s Wardens, with oversight from the Master and Clerk, and representation from Court Assistants.
In addition to their specific remits, Committees also act collectively as a Nominations Board, making timely recommendations to the Court regarding all appointments to Court and the Officers of the Guild. They also provide guidance and support to Court Assistants and Officers in the execution of their duties. All Committees of the Guild report to the Court of Assistants at each Court meeting. The Guild maintains three principal Committees: Events, Membership, and Communications.
Events Committee
Chaired by the Upper Warden, this Committee designs and delivers the Guild’s calendar of events for the benefit of members. It works closely with the Master to incorporate his or her recommendations for the year, whilst also preparing for the year ahead. The Events Committee also oversees the Charity Subcommittee , which coordinates the Guild’s charitable activities and ensures that fundraising and benevolent initiatives are aligned with our values and traditions.
Membership Committee
Chaired by the Middle Warden, this Committee processes applications for membership, conducts interviews, and organises Admissions Courts to welcome new members. It also considers initiatives to enhance member engagement and advises on the strategic growth of the Guild’s membership.
Communications Committee
Chaired by the Renter Warden, this Committee is responsible for documenting events, managing the Guild’s social media presence, coordinating communications with other committees, preparing and editing the semi-annual newsletter, and maintaining the projected image of the Guild.
